Safety Operating Regulations for SENFENG Laser Cladding Equipment

1. Operators must adhere to the following requirements to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment
1)Do not enter the laser processing area when the equipment is running.
2)Personnel without professional training are prohibited from operating this laser cladding equipment.
3)Do not press the start button on the console during major maintenance of equipment to prevent laser and machinery damage to personnel.
4)Do not look directly at the laser without protective glasses. Masks, goggles and other personal protective equipment are required during processing.
5)Do not open the power switch with wet hands to prevent electric shock.
6)Operators should keep a distance of more than 1m from the equipment to prevent laser burns and machine collisions.
7)When the equipment is running, the operator should not leave the console.
8)If you must enter the laser processing area, ensure that the equipment is in a shutdown state. No one is allowed to start the equipment during this period to avoid injury.
9)No one is allowed to put any part of the body under the laser head to avoid injury!

2.Precautions for daily production
1)Before cladding, check whether the red light completely passes through the baffle and whether there is light deflection to ensure that the light path is unobstructed at any time.
2)Check whether the temperature of the water chiller, laser source, and cladding head is normal (it is recommended to check the temperature of the cladding head every 1.5-2 hours).
3)Check whether the gas pressure meets the requirements.
4)Check whether the industrial circulating water chiller can work normally.
5)Check the water and gas circuits for leaks before starting the machine, and check the powder circuit for leaks and bends after starting the machine.
6)Regularly check the lower protective lens and make sure there are no abnormalities before turning on the device.
7)Turn on the machine in strict accordance with the switch sequence to prevent electrical components from burning out. Any damage to the machine caused by illegal operation is your own responsibility.
8)Clean the filter of the chiller at least once a week, check whether the water level is normal, and replace water every month (distilled or deionized water is required).
9)Do not store flammable and explosive items near equipment or gas to prevent fire!
10)Fire extinguishers must be equipped in the equipment working area.

3.After daily work
1)Return the machine tool to zero point and press the emergency stop button.
2)Clean the powder on the machine tool, cladding head and powder feeder.
3)Turn off all the power switches of the equipment as required
4)Record the operation status of the machine tool and report in time if necessary.

4.Maintenance and safe operation
1)To enter the work area during equipment maintenance or cleaning, you must press the emergency stop button in advance. During this period, no one is allowed to operate the machine to avoid injuries.
2)When performing maintenance on the water-cooling system, the water chiller needs to be shut down and powered off first, and then maintenance and cleaning is performed, including cleaning the filter and replacing the coolant.
3)When maintaining the laser cladding head, first shut down the laser source and then perform maintenance and cleaning to avoid damage.
4)When maintaining the power distribution cabinet, power off the equipment first, then clean the dust and check whether the circuits are loose.
5)When the local temperature is lower than 5℃, the water-cooled coolant needs to be replaced with a suitable antifreeze, or the machine must not be shut down.

5.Tips for using laser cladding equipment
1)Please use accessories provided by our company. If the use of non-original parts causes equipment failure, safety accidents, or even other unnecessary losses, you will be responsible for the consequences.
2)When you need technical support services, please feel free to contact us. If non-authorized personnel participate in the equipment maintenance or relocation, resulting in equipment failure or damage, your relevant rights and interests will be invalid.
3)Our company provides quick-response technical consultation, repair services, and professional regular maintenance services. Please contact us freely when you need it.

6.The startup and shutdown sequence of laser cladding equipment

Precautions for Using the Equipment

1.Untrained personnel are strictly prohibited from operating this equipment. Our company is not responsible for equipment damage and personnel safety problems caused by failure to operate as required.
2.Please use original accessories. Problems such as equipment failure caused by not using original parts will not enjoy free warranty service.
3.Before starting the machine, be sure to check the water circuit (the water temperature is normal without leaks and blockage), the gas circuit (the gas is sufficient, the air pressure and flow are appropriate), the circuit (the switch is normal, no leakage, and the grounding is good), and the light circuit (the red light is not blocked). ), powder path (powder is sufficient, the powder path is smooth), and the protective lens (the protective lens is clean).
4.Clean the dust inside the machine tool, the cladding head and the powder feeder promptly after every day’s work. Promptly seal the light outlet under the cladding head with paper tape to prevent dust from entering.
5.The X/Y/Z axes of the machine tool is equipped with an automatic lubrication system. The pumping interval of the oil pump is 4 hours, and each pumping time is 10 seconds (adjustable). When the oil level in the pump is too low, an alarm will sound. At this time, standard lubricating oil should be added to the pump.
6.It is strictly forbidden to load workpieces that exceed the load capacity of the machine tool. If there is a quality problem due to excessive load, the customer will be responsible for the loss;
7.Strictly follow the steps for turning on and off the equipment. If the equipment fails and accessories are damaged due to failure to follow the steps, the customer shall be responsible for the losses;
8.Clean and maintain the power distribution cabinet every 15 days (no more than 30 days). Turn off power to the equipment during maintenance. Clean the dust and oil inside and outside the electric control cabinet; drain the water box of the air conditioner; check whether the components, wires and wire ends in the distribution control cabinet are loose or abnormally hot; check whether the fixing of various components is loose; under normal voltage, check whether contactors, relays, solenoid valves and other components make abnormal noises during operation. If so, please replace them in time.
Note: The cooling fan and filter are consumable parts, and their service life will vary depending on the length of use or method. Therefore, all consumable parts are not covered by the warranty.

Precautions for Using Laser Source

1.This product does not have built-in replaceable parts. All repairs should be carried out by our after-sales personnel (or our designated Raycus after-sales personnel). To prevent electric shock, please do not damage the label and remove the cover, otherwise any damage to the product will void the warranty.
2.When taking out the coiled output fiber and laser output head, pay special attention not to twist, bend, or pull the fiber. At the same time, collision and vibration should be avoided to prevent irreparable damage to these precision optical parts.
3.When installing and disassembling, please be careful to handle the laser output head gently and avoid vibration. Before assembling the laser output head, the optical lens and cladding head cavity must be clean and free of contamination.
4.When using the laser source, make sure it is grounded reliably, and make sure the connection is the correct 380VAC voltage before powering on the device. Incorrect connection to the power supply will cause irreparable damage to the laser source;
5.Please keep the protective cap of the output head properly when using the laser source. Place the cap with the opening facing down to avoid dust falling into it.
6.Before turning on the laser source, ensure that the cooling system is working properly and the water temperature is appropriate(summer: 25±0.5℃; winter: 22±0.5℃).
7.When starting up for the first time, check whether the entire water system and joints are leaking. The external water pipes must be installed and connected according to the water inlet (IN) and water outlet (OUT) marked on the laser source, otherwise it may not work properly.
8.If the laser source is not used for a long time, the cooling water of the cooling system and the laser source should be drained, otherwise the equipment will be damaged. When draining water, please use compressed gas with a pressure less than 0.5MPa. Failure to do so may cause irreversible damage to the water cooling system.
Note: The parts of the laser source including fiber optic patch cables, the outer fiber part, the fiber window protective lens, the fiber crystal, the emergency stop switch, the key switch and the power cord are all consumable parts. Their life span will vary depending on the length of use or method. All these consumable parts are not covered by the warranty.

Anti-freeze Maintenance of Laser Source

1.If there are frequent power outages and the conditions for emptying the coolant every day are not available, antifreeze must be used. The base liquid of antifreeze is generally composed of water and alcohols. It requires high boiling point and flash point, high specific heat capacity, good heat conductivity, low low-temperature viscosity, not easy to foam, and does not corrode metal parts and rubber hoses. When selecting and preparing antifreeze, its freezing point should be 5 degrees Celsius lower than the lowest environment temperature.
2.Recommended antifreeze brands.
CLARIANT. There are two models suitable for laser systems:
1)Antifrogen RN glycol-water type (industrial product, harmful to human body)
2)Antifrogen RL propylene glycol-water type (food grade, harmless to the human body)
Note: Any antifreeze cannot completely replace deionized water and cannot be used for long periods of time throughout the year. The volume used accounts for 10%-20% of the water tank volume and cannot exceed 20%. After winter, the pipes must be cleaned with deionized or purified water and restored to their use as coolant.
3.When the ambient temperature is too low, the water chiller must be turned on 24 hours a day.
4.If the equipment is not used for a long time, the cooling water needs to be drained. Use clean and dry gas (pressure less than 0.5MPa) to dry the water in the pipeline.

Precautions for Using the Cladding Head

1.Avoid plugging and unplugging optical fibers unless necessary. When necessary, make sure the surrounding environment is clean, clean your hands or wear rubber gloves before performing horizontal plugging and unplugging. After the optical fiber is pulled out, use a protective cap to protect it. After the optical fiber is inserted, wrap the interface with paper tape to avoid contamination.
2.Check whether the protective lens is clean before each use, and wipe or replace it if necessary (see the user manual for details). This process requires sealing the protective lens drawer opening and the light hole at the bottom with paper tape to prevent dust from entering the interior of the cladding head.
3.Check whether the light path is blocked before each use and remove obstructions.
4.Check and adjust before each use to ensure that the focus is correct, the spot size is appropriate, and the spot and powder are in the appropriate position on the workpiece.
5.Check whether the powder is evenly distributed before use. If it is uneven, adjust the powder feeder or clean the powder feeding nozzle.
6.During use, ensure that there is always gas protection, and the protective gas pressure and flow rate are appropriate; it should also be clean and dry.
7.Pay attention to the protection of the cladding head during use to avoid damage to it due to collision, reflected light, etc.
8.Every 1.5-2 hours of work, the operator should check whether the temperature of the cladding head is abnormal. If there is any abnormality, please stop the machine in time and contact our after-sales personnel;
9.Clean the dust and powder on the laser cladding head after use. And seal the light outlet with paper tape to prevent dust from entering.
10.If the cladding head needs to be dismantled for transportation, please use clean and dry gas to dry the water in the water pipe, blow out the powder in the powder pipe, and take anti-shock protection measures.
Note:
1.The protective lens must be from the original factory, otherwise the quality problems of the cladding head will be borne by the customer!
2.The parts of the cladding head including upper protective lens, lower protective lens, collimating lens, focusing lens, powder feeding nozzle, baffle and pan plug seal are all wearing parts. Their lifespan will vary depending on length or method of use. They are not covered by the warranty.

Precautions for Using Gravity-fed Powder Feeder

The powder feeder has been installed and debugged before delivery. Do not disassemble or change settings at will. (As shown on the right)
Connect one end of the powder feeding tube to the powder outlet interface at the bottom of the gravity powder feeder, and the other end to the powder inlet of the powder feeding nozzle (it is recommended to use a special anti-static PU powder feeding tube).
The front panel of the powder feeding controller is fixed on the right of the cantilever (see the picture on the right). After the equipment is powered on, press the power switch and the indicator light will light up. Change the voltage by adjusting the “armature voltage adjustment knob” to adjust the powder feeding amount.
Precautions:

1. Before use, the alloy powder should be baked at 100-150°C for 30-40 minutes and sieved with a sieve. Then put it into the powder feeder and tighten the powder top cover.

2. The manufacturing process and particle size range of the powder will affect the powder feeding accuracy. Atomized spherical alloy powder and alloy powder with a small particle size range have higher powder feeding accuracy. Please use spherical powder with appropriate particle size, otherwise the powder path will be blocked due to poor powder fluidity.

3. When not in use for a long time, please clean the powder feeder and blow it clean with dry airflow. It is recommended to use dry high-pressure air to clean the entire powder circuits every month.

4. The powder storage cylinder is fragile and should be protected with care.

5. Avoid powder contacting electrical components and causing short circuits.

6. All parameters of the powder feeder have been set before delivery, and users are not allowed to disassemble it without permission. Quality problems caused by unauthorized disassembly shall be borne by the customer!

Note: The powder barrel of the powder feeder and the powder dividing wheel are wearing parts, and their service life will vary depending on the length of use or method of use. Therefore, all consumable parts are not covered by the warranty.

Precautions for Using Water Chiller

1.The water chiller must be placed firmly and not tilted. After water injection is completed, cover the cover to avoid contamination.
2.Before each start-up, check whether the water level is within the specified range. If there is water shortage, it must be replenished in time and confirm that there is no leakage point in the equipment.
3.Before each start-up, check whether the waterway is smooth and there is no leakage point in the circulating waterway.
4.Check the ventilation filter before starting the machine each time to ensure that it is well ventilated. The ventilation filter needs to be cleaned regularly, no less than once a week. If the working environment is harsh, it is recommended to clean it once a day.
5.The temperature of the water chiller is set at 22-28°C (set to 28-32°C in summer).
6.The cooling water in the water chiller should be replaced every month (distilled water or deionized water). When replacing, clean the water tank, circulate pure water once to flush out the dirty water from the equipment, and then inject new water.
7.Check and clean the Y-shaped filter in the water path of the water chiller every month, and replace it if necessary.
Note: The water-cooled filter element is a wearing part, and its service life will vary depending on the length of use or method. All wearing parts are not covered by the warranty.
